Dear young men and women, friends, Status:M is honoured to have a chance to invite you to a play “Ja sam…” today on the 23rd of September, in Theatre Vidra in Zagreb.
Zajednica saveza osoba s invaliditetom, Mreža žena s invaliditetom and Status:M have joined together in commemorating the National day against violence over women, commemorated annually on the 22nd of September.
The event will be focused around a play titled “Ja sam…”. The play promotes healthy lifestyle, nonviolence and gender equality.
“Ja sam…” presents everyday life of young men and women, with the focus on presenting the roots and effects of risky and dangerous behaviour.
The play will be held on Monday, 23rd of September, at 19:00 hours, in the Theatre Vidra, in Draškovićeva street 80, in Zagreb. Entrance in free. Young actors, many of them Status:M volunteers, are hoping for a big audience and we hope you won’t let them down. The play itself had a great effect on a number of young people so will hope you won’t miss a chance to rethink some of your attitudes.
National day against violence over women is commemorated on the 22nd of September to remember the tragic event that happened 14 years ago, when three women lost their lives in a brutal violent attack. On 22nd of September 1999 Mate Oraškić opened fire at the county court house in Zagreb, killing Judge Ljiljana Hvalec, attorney Hajra Prohić and his wife Gordana Oraškić, and wounding court clerk Stanka Cvetković. His was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
