In the very center of Zagreb, from 17th to 19th of September we presented best practices in working on involving men in the care of children from an early age and the Report of the United Nations on the role of fathers in achieving gender equality, while the end of the meeting was provided for planning the future joint activities and regional network MenEngage Europe.

Why is it important to involve men in care of the children?
The inclusion of men in the care of children improves the mental health of men themselves, and increases the chances for a positive development of children and the pleasure of women with men who share the care of children. It is extremely important to work with men to take an active and equal role in child care. Globally, the five men, more than four will be fathers at some point in their lives.

What is MenEngage?
Global network MenEngage is a unique network that operates in more than 100 countries worldwide. It brings together about 700 non-governmental organizations, and operates through six regions, of which Europe is only one. MenEngage members work collectively and individually toward advancing gender justice, human rights and social justice to achieve a world in which all can enjoy healthy, fulfilling and equitable relationships and their full potential, regardless of gender.
MenEngage network work is based on the following facts:
Men must act In order to achieve equality for women, men need to be part of the solution. Equality is only achievable if we work together.
Women are equals We fully support gender equality and women’s empowerment. We believe that a more equal world benefits men, women, boys, and girls.
Peace is possible We believe in peaceful solutions to conflicts between people, groups, and countries and in men’s capacity for non-violence.
