The 2nd MenEngage Global Symposium 2014 is being held for four days in New Delhi, India from 10th – 13th November 2014.

The Symposium is being organized by MenEngage Global Alliance, along with UNFPA, UN Women, Beijing + 20 Campaign and the Centre for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ) located in New Delhi.

The overall theme of the Symposium “Men and Boys for Gender Justice” has been arranged around seven topics on which presentations and discussions will be based.

These seven topics are:

  • Violence
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Poverty and Work
  • Care, Relationships and Emotions
  • Sexualities, Identities
  • Peace building, Social Justice, Inclusion
  • Making of Men – From masculinity to humanity

Last symposium was held five years ago at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, in March 2009. The theme of that symposium was, ‘Going To Scale’ which when looking today has certainly been done.

More than 750 people from over 90 countries are participating on this symposium.

Activists and field people from all over the world will share their experiences of working with men and boys while renowned and emerging researchers and academics will be presenting ideas on equalizing gender relations.
